NEXT-GEN MEDIA EXPO
Belgrade, Serbia | 2024
The EU’s IMM NEXT-GEN MEDIA EXPO showcases cutting-edge examples of public service journalism. In the rapidly changing media landscape, this event highlights the essential role of public broadcasters in building a well-informed society.
This event is organized by DW Akademie as part of the “Innovation.Media.Minds Program – EU Support to Public Service Journalism in the Western Balkans“, managed by the Goethe-Institut on behalf of the European Commission.

DW Akademie, Deutsche Welle’s Center for International Media Development, is a beacon of journalism training and knowledge transfer. Committed to strengthening the human right to freedom of expression and ensuring unfettered access to information, DW Akademie empowers people around the world to make independent decisions based on reliable facts and constructive dialogue. As a strategic partner of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, and with support from the German Foreign Office and the European Union, DW Akademie actively contributes to media development in some 60 developing and emerging countries.
As the globally active cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Goethe-Institut is committed to promoting understanding between Germany, Europe and the world. We promote knowledge of the German language abroad and foster international cultural cooperation. The Federal Foreign Office supports our work institutionally. As a registered association, we act independently, are not tied to any political party and are legally independent. We generate around a third of our budget ourselves through proceeds from language courses and examinations. We are also supported by the EU, other federal ministries, foundations and companies at home and abroad.
