In 2022, the 6th BRAVE NEW MEDIA FORUM and its “reunion edition” returns to the “new normal” format. On November 18-19, over three hundred guests gathered on Belgrade’s Children’s Cultural Center premises. Nonetheless, the forum had a hybrid form, as several speakers joined the program remotely.
As always, the program included hot topics of great importance for young digital creators as well as for young audiences. Whether about the war in Ukraine, propaganda and false information, or growing up in a post-war zone and toxic masculinity oppressing women’s rights in the Balkans, BNMF has found great speakers for panel discussions.
In addition, the spotlight was on numerous successful projects and formats such as the newly established Young Media Network, NotMyWar platform, Pulse of Europe project, innovative start-ups Click Saver and City and me. Content such as the Sex Ed Glossary, The Mockers series, and the activities of human rights advocates in the fight for women’s rights in Iran were also introduced and discussed.
Deep-dive zones addressed the following topics: new impulses for new media, now to make media viable through native advertising, protests in Iran, but also gather dozens of fact-checkers from at least ten countries.
